Replace the battery in Orbit Keys

Orbit Keys uses one CR2025 coin battery. It lasts up to 1 year. CR2025 batteries are sold anywhere that sells small batteries.

You need: the opening tool that came with your Orbit Keys (lost it? buy the Key Opening Tool).

1. Place the Orbit between the two halves of the opening tool.
2. Twist the top of the tool anti-clockwise to open the Orbit.
3. Take out the old battery.
4. Put in the new CR2025 battery with the + side facing down.
5. Push the two halves of the Orbit together, place it back in the tool and twist clockwise to lock it shut.

Note: the upcoming Orbit Tag Duo (the Duo version of Orbit Keys, coming early 2027) uses a CR2032 battery instead. This article is for current Orbit Keys (CR2025).
