Share an Orbit with family, or move it to another Apple ID
One owner at a time. An Orbit can only be registered to one Apple ID.
Using it on your iPhone and iPad? No need to do anything. Once it's registered, your Orbit shows in Find My on every device signed in to the same Apple ID.
Sharing with family or friends: you can share an Orbit with up to 5 people, the same way as an AirTag. They can see it on the map and play a sound, and they won't get "unknown tracker" alerts when it travels with them.
- Open Find My > Items and select the Orbit.
- Under Share This Item, tap Add Person and choose who to share with.
- They accept the invitation in their own Find My app.
Everyone needs an Apple Account with two-factor authentication and iCloud Keychain, on iOS 17, iPadOS 17, macOS 14 or later. You can't share with a child account.
Giving or selling an Orbit to someone else, or "registered to another Apple ID":
- The current owner opens Find My > Items, selects the Orbit and taps Remove Item.
- Factory reset the Orbit (see the button guide for your product).
- The new owner adds it with + > Add Other Item.
Can Orbit remove it for you? No. Only the Apple ID it's registered to can remove it, and we don't keep any details about who registered an Orbit. If you bought it second-hand or were given it, ask the seller or giver to remove it from their Find My.
