"Unknown tracker found moving with you": what it means and how to disable an Orbit

Apple and Google phones warn you if an unknown tracker seems to be travelling with you. This protects people from being tracked without knowing.

If you get this alert for an Orbit you don't recognise:

  1. Use the notification to make the Orbit play a sound and find it.
  2. Disable it so it stops sharing its location. See the button guide: Glasses · Keys · Velo · Card.
  3. If you feel unsafe, contact your local police.

Getting alerts for your own Orbit? This can happen when an Orbit owned by someone else in your household travels with you. Ask them to share it with you in Find My.

Orbit Duo trackers (Find My or Find Hub) have step-by-step disable pages: Card Duo

How to disable a current Orbit (Glasses, Keys, Velo or Card): press and hold the button for 10 seconds. The Orbit switches off and stops sharing its location.

  • Orbit Glasses: the button is inside a small pin hole on the bottom. Use a paper clip.
  • Orbit Velo: it's bolted to a bike with the button facing the frame, so it has to be unbolted first. The button is on the side with the printed label.
