Why is my Orbit beeping by itself?

There are a few normal reasons an Orbit beeps:

1. It's in pairing mode. Just switched on, or (Orbit Glasses) just put on charge? It beeps for up to 10 minutes while it waits to be added to Find My. See Why does my Orbit beep non-stop after I switch it on?

2. It's been away from its owner and then moved. This is an Apple safety feature that every Find My accessory must have. If your Orbit hasn't been near the iPhone it's registered to for a while (it can be a few days) and then moves, it plays a sound for a short time. This lets people notice a tracker they didn't know about. It's normal and stops when the Orbit is back near your iPhone.

  • Common examples: a bike with Orbit Velo stored in a garage while you're away, or glasses or keys left at home when someone else moves them.
  • Want it to stop? Keep the Orbit near the iPhone it's registered to. Another household member who travels with it can be shared the item in Find My.

3. Someone used Play Sound. You (or someone the item is shared with) may have tapped Play Sound in Find My, or someone who got an unknown-tracker alert made it ring. See "Unknown tracker found moving with you".

Still beeping for no reason? Try a factory reset, then add it to Find My again. See the button guide for your product: Glasses · Keys · Velo · Card. If that doesn't help, email help@findorbit.com.
